The film "Pomegranate and reed", directed by Saeed Ebrahimifar, is one of the adapted films that was not inspired by fiction, but rather was influenced by the atmosphere, language, images, and content of Sohrab Sepehri's poems. The present study, using a descriptive-analytical method and utilizing Genette's theoretical framework of transtextuality, has attempted to analyze the intertextual relationships between the film "Pomegranate and reed" and Sohrab Sepehri's "Eight Books". The research data were collected through a purposeful study of eight books and structured observation of the film and analyzed at three levels: structural, symbolic, and intertextual. The research findings show that the film "Pomegranate and reed" (Nar o Ney) is in dialogue with the "Eight Books" through a complex network of intertextual relationships. These relationships can be traced at various levels, including explicit intertextuality (the use of the name "Sohrab" and the city of "Kashan"), implicit intertextuality (the common symbols of water, light, and pomegranate) And hypertextuality (the re-creation of Sepehri's poetic world in cinematic form) can be traced.
