The feminist movement, advocating for women's rights, stands as one of the most debated topics of the present era, having brought about profound transformations in literature and offering fresh perspectives on poetry. Among the noteworthy themes in the collected works of women poets is the use of feminine vocabulary and expressions. Simin Behbahani and Gulrukhsar Safiyeva, two poets from two societies sharing common cultural roots, possess a distinctive view of women and feminine emotions.
Objective: The present study seeks to analyze the feminist underpinnings in the poetry of these two poets by employing the theoretical framework of Hélène Cixous on the critique of binary oppositions and the concept of "the acceptance of the Other."
Method: This research, adopting a comparative approach and a descriptive-analytical method based on written sources, analyzes the poems of the two poets based on three key concepts of Cixous's theory (critique of binary oppositions, woman's alienation from herself, and the inadequacy of masculine language).
Findings: The findings reveal two semantic levels in the poetry of Simin and Gulrukhsar: First, the critique of patriarchal binary oppositions through concepts such as infidelity, polygamy, and dowry (mahr and kabin), which signify "masculine spectatorship" and "man's love for himself"; Second, the solution of "the acceptance of the Other" through feminine emotions, self-awareness, maternal vocabulary, linguistic intimacy, and elements of nature to reclaim the multiplicity of femininity and create a feminine language.
Conclusion: Although both poets compose poetry in the Persian-speaking culture, Simin employs a more explicit and protest-oriented expression in
