The novel, as a literary genre in contemporary literature, is regarded as a portrayal of the present-day lifeworld in an artistic dimension. This process, through its artistic and literary capacities, has managed to provide a suitable platform for unveiling the various layers of modern human life. One of these layers is the category of different types of direct, structural, and cultural violence. This research adopts a comparative approach to examine the representation of peace and violence in Naguib Mahfouz’s trilogy and *Shohar-e Ahu Khanom* by Ali-Mohammad Afghani, based on the theories of positive peace, negative peace, and Galtung’s typology of violence. The study is conducted using a descriptive-analytical method, focusing on the patriarchal, dictatorial, and traditional societies of Egypt and Iran. The findings indicate that in Mahfouz’s trilogy, structural and direct violence is primarily exercised by the father, Sayyid Ahmad Abd al-Jawad, within the framework of absolute authority and a patriarchal structure, while cultural resistance against colonialism also stands as a prominent manifestation of cultural violence. In the face of these forms of violence, Amina, by adopting strategies of adaptation, sacrifice, and self-restraint, seeks to maintain a negative and minimal peace within the family. In *Shohar-e Ahu Khanom*, the structural violence perpetrated by Sayyid Miran Sarabi is intermittent in nature and intensifies during critical junctures such as remarriage. Ahu, unlike Amina, initially demonstrates active and persuasive resistance, and after encountering failure, turns to strategies of self-restraint and crisis management to achieve relative peace.
