The present study, with a comparative and interdisciplinary approach, analyzes the foundations of the meaning of life in the ghazals of Khwaju Kermani. It aims to show how the meaning-making structure of his poetry can be aligned with Viktor Frankl’s triadic model of meaning therapy—values that are creative, experiential, and attitudinal—and ultimately with the concept of ultimate meaning. The methodology involves qualitative content analysis, relying on conceptual alignment in comparative literature. This research demonstrates that Khwaju Kermani’s poetry embodies a set of creative, experiential, and attitudinal values. In the creative dimension, linguistic innovations, painterly imagery, musical prominence, and his role in shaping the integrated ghazal distinguish Khwaju and influence poets such as Hafez. Experiential values manifest in the fidelity and uniqueness of love, emphasis on the beloved’s beauty, and the precedence of spiritual closeness over physical proximity. In the attitudinal dimension, the acceptance of suffering and its transformation into hope, emphasis on will, belief in life’s transience, and liberation from the dominance of the self are among the most important components of his poetry. Most importantly, Khwaju’s intellectual system ultimately progresses toward ultimate meaning—a concept in his poetry that continues through the recognition of human existential mission and the pursuit of truth, culminating in union after self-annihilation
