A study and analysis of the novels "The Baghdad Clock" by Shahad Al Rawi and "Two landscapes" by Ghazaleh Alizadeh Based on the Sociology of Language

Abstract

Sociology of language is a branch of linguistics that studies the relationship between language and society. This field analyzes the interaction of language on social structures and culture and the impact of society on language. In sociology of language, similar factors, social classes, education, age, and ethnicity play a fundamental role in creating linguistic diversity. The present study examines the sociology of language in the novels "The Baghdad Clock" by Shahad Al Rawi and "Two landscapes" by Ghazaleh Alizadeh based on the sociology of language, and the authors seek to answer these questions using a descriptive-analytical method: A) What are the sociological components of language in the novels "The Baghdad Clock" and "Two landscapes"? B) How are these components manifested in the novels "The Baghdad Clock" and "Two landscapes "? In order to answer the above questions, first the sociological components of language were extracted from the two novels and the components were examined and analyzed based on the sociology of language. This research indicates that the sociological components of language in novels include education, gender, occupation, religion, beliefs, and opinions.
